Accessibility
Last updated: 21 September 2026
GLOBUS should be usable by as many people as possible. This page says plainly what we have done, what still does not work well, and how to reach a person about it.
1. What has been done
- Every page can be used with the keyboard alone, and the control you are on is always visibly outlined.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first thing the keyboard reaches, so you do not tab through the whole menu.
- Buttons that show only an icon carry a text name for screen readers, and every form field has a real label.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Messages that pop up ("you were paid", "not enough gold") are announced instead of appearing silently.
- Body text is checked for contrast against the dark background.
- Pages work at phone width and stay usable when you zoom the browser in.
2. What is not accessible yet
We would rather tell you than let you find out:
- Battles run on a timer. Rounds are timed and hits are made under time pressure, so a player who needs more time cannot take part on equal terms. We have no good answer for this yet.
- The globe on the home page is a 3D canvas you drag with a mouse. Everything it shows — countries, battles, regions — is also reachable from the ordinary pages and menus, which are accessible.
- Some numbers and tables are dense, and have not all been tested with a screen reader.
3. The standard we work towards
We aim at Israeli standard SI 5568, which follows WCAG 2.0 level AA. We do not claim to meet it in full today — the two points above are real gaps, and the game has not been audited by an accessibility expert. Work on this continues.
4. Where we stand under Israeli law
GLOBUS is run by a single person and earns no revenue, which places it below the turnover threshold in regulation 35 of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility) Regulations, 5773-2013. This page is published anyway, because a person who cannot use the game should not have to guess where to write. If the game starts earning, the full obligation applies and we intend to meet it.
5. Tell us what is broken
If something here stopped you from playing, write and say what happened, which page it was on, and what you use to browse (screen reader, keyboard only, magnifier). A real person reads it.

We aim to answer within a few days. If a fix will take longer, we will say so and tell you how far along it is.
